Textile Exchange is a global nonprofit organization committed to creating Impact. Founded in 2002, Textile Exchange is committed to the responsible expansion of textile sustainability and sustainable textiles across the globe. As most of the materials in use today come from farms, forests, or fossil fuels, we demand that they be treated with respect and managed responsibly. Our aim is a sustainable production of fibres consisting of fibers and materials that have a positive ecological effect along the entire length of the supply chain, supporting sustainable fashion materials, eco-friendly fabrics, and sustainable raw materials.

At the center of our strategy is Climate+, our goal to enable the industry to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from fiber and raw material production by 45 percent by 2030. Working in partnership with farmers, suppliers, manufacturers, and brands, we enable responsible sourcing, better soil health, good water management and protection of biodiversity while also encouraging climate-positive textiles as part of long-term climate action.

We offer a rich understanding base, guidelines, instruments and international programs to help all stakeholders at any step of their sustainability journey. By coming to grips with the environmental challenges of major fibers such as cotton, polyester, nylon, wool, viscose, and leather and working side-by-side in round tables, benchmarks, and fiber challenges, we enable organizations to not only make progress but gain a competitive advantage by adopting sustainable cotton, sustainable fabric standards, and preferred fibers and materials.

Our holistic analyses, interactive tools, and industry benchmarks monitor the global movement towards preferred materials while accelerating sustainable practices in line with climate goals. Through uniting industry pioneers in their field, we expedite the shift to regenerative practices, resilient ecosystems, and climate-positive textiles for all, supported by our fiber and materials benchmark and aligned with global sustainability expectations.
