Meet the all-new INEOS Grenadier - Built for Africa

The addition of Ghana means the INEOS Grenadier sales and service network now covers seven markets across Sub-Saharan Africa. The INEOS Grenadier is an uncompromising 4x4 designed and built from the ground up by a team of experts, for maximum off-road capability anywhere in the world. Following rigorous testing in Sub-Saharan Africa, the Grenadier has been tested to the limits and shown itself capable, durable, and reliable in some of the most demanding terrains.

In Ghana, Japan Motors (trading as ION Motors) will be the official retail partner for the INEOS Grenadier. Japan Motors, which has had long-established practice and good standing in the local automobile industry for decades, already enjoys high credibility on home soil; hence, it is believed they will handle customer relations as much as marketing efforts to make sure the vehicle hits the ground in Ghana with a bang.

Tim Abbott, INEOS Automotive Head of Region for South Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa, says the company has selected partners who not only believe in the vehicle's ability but also reflect what the brand is all about. Japan Motors’ focus on customer experience is entirely suited to the INEOS Grenadier.

ION Motors will open its Grenadier showroom at the Silver Star Towers in Airport City, and the first demonstrator vehicles are due to land in Ghana in Q2 2023.

Built for Africa

With ladder-frame construction and permanent four-wheel drive via 2x speeds, high- and low-ranges, solid beam axles provide the ideal chassis interface at each corner of the vehicle, and – with up to three locking differentials available – traction is assured in even the toughest conditions. On road, it provides a fairly well-balanced ride courtesy of a 5-link suspension setup, Brembo brakes, and rubber from Bridgestone or BF Goodrich if you choose all-terrain tyres.

Powering the Grenadier are BMW Group’s proven 3.0-litre, straight-six petrol (B58) and diesel (B57) engines that have gained a reputation as one of the best engines in production of all time.
