The European Environment Agency (EEA) is an agency of the European Union and a leading EU environment agency that serves as a source for reliable information on the condition and development of Europe’s environment and climate, supporting Environmental policy Europe and Climate policy EU. In close cooperation with our European, national and international partners, the European Environment Agency generates a comprehensive network of information through Eionet (European Environment Information and Observation Network) which links 32 member countries and 6 cooperating countries. Such a joint approach allows the agency to gather, validate and harmonize environmental information from trustworthy sources that can be known with certainty, compared across Member states of Europe, strengthening Environmental governance EU.
As the European Union’s leading environmental knowledge provider, the European Environment Agency draws up, produces and publishes integrated information on how our environment is changing.
