About Us Wilton Books is a young & independent publishing house and children’s books publisher focused on finding and developing quirky, imaginative and lavishly illustrated children’s books and illustrated story books for kids of all ages – even those as old as you! A writer and self-publisher with 30 years creative experience to fall back on (backed up by a career in law), Wilton Books was set up because its founder believes talented new writers and illustrators deserve the opportunity for major exposure – especially when the big commercial houses have taken over the publishing landscape. As a growing UK book publisher, we are proud to support unique voices entering the industry.

We intend tot produce intelligen, fun and visually appealing stories for older children with a sense of place and artistic qualities. Each book is produced with the highest design level, enabling it to participate in no just literary awards but also the most demanding graphic books prizes. As a publisher, we give our authors and illustrators a voice on outlets that you already know; How do we do this? … by promoting them through various media avenues to help reach readers who appreciate great originality, creativity and the ability to tell a good story. Our work spans across fiction books for kids, books for older children, and creative storytelling for children that resonate with a wide audience.

Every publication has its team behind it. With editors, proof-readers, illustrators and graphic designers and IT boffins to distributors we are able to make wonderful children's books possible from concept to life - with professionalism and passion. We are so excited to be launching with the first five titles of the Lakeland Mysteries—a delightful, children’s mystery books and illustrated mystery series for middle readers that follows the intrepid Donaldson sisters who solve a case in every book using logic, imagination and their feelings. These titles form part of our exciting new book releases and represent our commitment to high-quality young readers fiction and literary fiction for kids.

Not content to simply write, Wilton Books is also involved in literacy and education via our Best Literary Review Prize for NZ secondary school students – a one of a kind competition that aims to foster reading comprehension, critical analysis and written expression. This initiative aligns with our focus on educational children’s books and our support for author and illustrator submissions.
